Description
The annatto, (Bixa orellana) is a botanical species tree of the regions of inter-tropical America, cultivated specifically in the Andes mountains of Peru, from the pre-columbian era. Of its fruit is obtained the spice of the same name, used as a colouring and seasoning in the food popular. The annatto is mainly used its fruit, which has antioxidant benefits, preventing its premature aging.
