Description
The dowel front DS-2 is used in the composition of insulation systems, for fixing heat insulating materials, plastering and facing layers to the walls of buildings made of concrete, brick and other materials.
Due to the low thermal conductivity of fiberglass spacer provides a reduction in the thickness of the insulation by 15-20% compared with a dowel with a steel core. (Scientific and Technical Report of NIISF Moscow)
The dowel front DS-2 consists of the following elements:
- disc element (FC), with a diameter of 60mm;
- expansion washer (Ш100) - for attaching a heat insulating layer of materials with high deformability;
- fiberglass spacer (ER), providing a low coefficient of thermal conductivity and the absence of corrosion;
- anchor element (AE) - 50, 80 and 100 mm long, made of polyamide.
The dowel is marked as follows: DS-2 50. 60. 100,
where 50 is the length of the anchor element (AE), 60 is the diameter of the plate element (TE), 100 is the length of the spacer element (OM).
The length of the dowel spacer is defined as the sum of the length of the anchor element (50mm, 80mm or 100mm) and the thickness of the insulation layer. When using dowels it is necessary to remove the old layer of plaster, or increase the depth of drilling. The anchor element for its entire length should be included in the carrier layer of the wall.
The usual number of dowels needed for mounting is 5-6 pcs. per square meter insulated wall. The exact number of dowels required is determined by calculation.
