Description
Combined transportation is the transportation of small-sized cargoes of different customers in one direction on one vehicle.
They allow to reduce the cost of delivery of small-sized cargoes and are not profitable for the transportation of large and medium-sized cargo.
Consolidated cargo is a type of cargo for transportation by collecting lots, which are completed at the expense of unit units and container volumes.
A key link in the chain of transportation of modular cargo is the consolidation of small lots of several senders in a special fuel and energy complex (freight forwarding company). Consolidation (consolidated) warehouse serves as a starting point for the regular transportation of consolidated cargoes along a given route. The time of delivery of the goods in this case varies depending on the period of picking the party, the route of transport and other factors.
Today, international shipments of consolidated consignments of goods by railways are often practiced.
