Rubbers are natural or synthetic elastomers characterized by elasticity, water resistance and electrical insulation properties, from which rubber and ebonite are obtained by vulcanization. The most widespread use of rubbers is the production of rubber for automobile, aviation and bicycle tires. Special rubbers of a wide variety of seals are made from rubbers for the purposes of heat, sound, air and waterproofing of demountable building elements, in sanitary and ventilation equipment, in hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum equipment.
